Payment model
Referral and platform compensation is calculated from receiving-side GCI and economically deducted from the receiving agent's commission share. Payment is processed through the receiving broker, brokerage accounting department, title/closing company where permitted, Agent Lead Exchange's payment portal, or another lawful payment channel — not through direct salesperson-to-salesperson payments.
Agent Lead Exchange is a marketplace that connects referring agents with receiving agents. The receiving agent always keeps 80% of GCI; the remaining 20% goes to the referring agent (or rolls back to the receiving agent when there isn't one). The platform takes 0% of commission — its revenue comes from a platform-access subscription. We are not attorneys, not a collection agency, and we don't chase commissions on anyone's behalf.
What we do is generate a tamper-resistant audit trail for every referral — signed agreements, broker acknowledgements, status updates, ReferralProof™ matches, cure-case events — and auto-deliver the resulting packets to the parties who need them when a deal closes or a dispute escalates.
For a plain-English overview of the same protections, see the ReferralProof and Tri-party agreement sections on our Trust page.
The cure window timeline
The authoritative cure-window timeline — 48-hour quiet window, 5-day formal cure, 3-day reminder, 5-day evidence window, and 3-day post-decision grace — lives on the Payment Integrity page so there is only one source of truth. If windows are ever adjusted, that page is the one that changes.
Read the full cure-window timelineDocuments we auto-generate
- Closing packet. Generated automatically when a ReferralProof™ closing match is confirmed by both parties. It bundles the signed agreement, broker acknowledgement, fee calculation, payment instructions, and audit trail, then delivers copies to the referring agent, receiving agent, and (where on file) the brokerage and title contact. No admin action required.
- Complaint packet. Generated automatically when a cure case escalates without payment or a sufficient defense. Delivered to the referring agent so they can — at their sole discretion — forward it to the receiver's brokerage, MLS, or state real-estate board.
Admins can re-generate or re-send a packet if a record is updated, but they don't create them from scratch. The platform produces and distributes both packets without manual intervention.
Where the platform stops
Agent Lead Exchange is a neutral intermediary. We facilitate the connection, record what happened, and deliver the resulting documents to the appropriate parties. We do not represent either agent, provide legal advice, mediate disputes on the merits, or attempt to collect funds.
We do enforce platform-level consequences for confirmed non-payment without a legitimate dispute — reputation flags visible to other members in-platform, reputation downgrades, claim suspension, and ultimately removal — because honoring signed referrals is the core expectation of membership. See the full Payment Integrity policy for the sanctions ladder.
If you're the receiving agent
The cure windows exist to protect you too. If you believe no fee is owed — the lead never converted, the consumer was already in your pipeline, the closing was on a different property — file a Dispute Intent from the lead page. You get a full additional window to upload evidence, and reasonable extensions are granted on request. The goal is the correct outcome, not the fast one.
Lightweight confirmation only — it stops the dashboard reminder. You can return here anytime.
